We’re a full month into our very first year of Bluegrass Ceili Academy classes and time really does fly when you’re having fun.
Our children’s class is full of young dancers getting their first taste of Irish dance. Some have danced before, some had never taken a dance class until they walked in our studio doors. All of them are having a great time!
We’re excited that our dancers, ages five to 10, are learning… AND getting ready for their first performance. Bluegrass Ceili Academy will be joining the Kiddie Kapers and Company Dance Program for their winter recital on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m.
One thing we’re super excited about is getting to put together our very first performance costumes. We’re keeping it simple, but also a bit blingy! Here’s a sneak peek of what our dancers will be wearing on stage this December.

Online registration for our Bluegrass Ceili Academy Spring 2017 children’s session is NOW OPEN on the Lexington Parks and Recreation website. Go here for more information and to sign up. The next session runs from January 30 to April 17… and includes the Lexington St. Patrick’s Parade and a spring recital!
What about the adults?
We have a thriving group of adult dancers and you’re welcome to join us for a free class to see if Irish dance is for you.
Want to see what weekly class is about? Stop by the Carver School to visit our Monday night 7 p.m. adults class. The first class is free and you can register now or wait until January for more classes.
Want something a little less formal? Every month Bluegrass Ceili Academy teaches a free Irish dance class at the Spiders Well at McCarthy’s Irish Bar in downtown Lexington. Our next class is on Wednesday, Nov. 9 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. Stop by, grab a pint, dance a few steps and give it a try.
